Welcome to the 2022 GTAV Annual Conference
This year’s conference theme is Geography: Rising to Challenges. More than ever before, Geography teachers have the responsibility of educating students about the complex and rapidly changing nature of our world. Younger generations are well attuned to the challenges that we are facing and the need for clear responses at local, national, and global scales.
Geospatial Technology is an increasing theme in the school curriculum, and this is reflected in several of the workshops at this conference. Spaces are limited, and so we encourage teachers to register quickly to take advantage of the opportunity to meet and share best practice as geographers.
We are excited to return to a face-to-face format in 2022, and we are looking forward to sharing a range of engaging opportunities for teachers. A traditional venue-based conference of keynote addresses and workshops will be held on Sunday 7 August at RMIT University, followed on Monday 8 August with a fieldwork day where participants will have the opportunity to select from four hands-on fieldwork workshops at different locations.
I look forward to meeting with teachers over the two days of our 2022 Annual Conference.
